Teen MotivationTeen motivation is a huge issue among parents and educators. Parents face a major challenge when motivating teens because their kids don’t want to listen. Teachers face an equally daunting task when dealing with student motivation and inspiring teens because motivating students in school can be a full-time job in itself. At SuperCamp, teen motivation is a major focus of our 10-day Senior Forum program for students entering grades 9-12. And we’re good at it. The first key to motivating teens at SuperCamp (and in those schools that use our Quantum Learning teaching methods) involves our Prime Directive: Theirs to Ours, Ours to Theirs. This concept reinforces the need to enter the student’s world first before we can successfully build their motivation. The second key to SuperCamp’s success at motivating teens is our Five Tenets. These tenets permeate every aspect of SuperCamp. The tenets are critical to motivating students in schools that apply Quantum Learning and they’re equally important in the teen motivation that occurs at SuperCamp. You can learn more about the Five Tenets on the Why SuperCamp Works So Well page. |

Another way we succeed at inspiring and motivating teens at SuperCamp is through teaching and modeling the 8 Keys of Excellence. The 8 Keys are principles to live by. Over the course of our summer programs, students learn about the value of Ownership, Commitment, Failure Leads to Success and This Is It! Each of these four Keys in particular address teen motivation from various angles, including making the most of every moment, setting and committing to goals, seeing things through and not giving up even when you first fail.
Student motivation is essential to their future success. Motivation must come from within. However, contrary to popular opinion, it can be taught. By inspiring teens with the 8 Keys, positive reinforcement, acknowledging every effort and celebrating every success, we teach students at SuperCamp how to become self-motivated. In doing so, teen motivation becomes one of the biggest end benefits of SuperCamp, grad parents tell us. As one parent says, “SuperCamp gave my daughter the tools to improve not only her grades but also her attitude. She emerged a motivated ‘can't wait to learn more’ teenager. Better attitude, better self-motivation, more self-esteem and the bonus... better grades."
Motivating teens is what we’ve done for nearly 30 years. We know how to do it and we do it well. So, enroll your son or daughter in SuperCamp and watch your student return home more motivated to excel in school and life.
